What is IPR?

IPR stands for interproximal reduction. IPR is a common practice used in orthodontics that removes a small amount of enamel in between the teeth with a small electrical tool or hand strip. This practice is used to correct crowding without the need of removing adult teeth or reshaping the teeth for better contacts between the them.

Does IPR hurt?

IPR should not hurt although some feel slight discomfort when it is begin completed. 

Is there any sensitivity that comes with IPR?

Because IPR is only removing the enamel of the teeth you should not feel sensitivity after the practice is completed

Can I get IPR done on filings?

Yes, you can get IPR done on filings if it is necessary.
